COPE COPE provides emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline, legal advocacy, financial assistance, parenting help, outreach services, and referrals to other community agencies and resources to victims of domestic violence and their children. Boy Scouts
The mission of Boy Scouts of America is to promote an educational program that helps to instill positive values in young people, preparing them to make ethical choices over their lifetime, enabling them to achieve their full potential. Their grant was awarded to help fund camerships and uniforms for disadvantaged youth of Laclede County. Children's Miracle Network When a family from Laclede County has a child in the hospital, they can receive assistance with food, gas and lodging while their child is hospitalized. They can also receive assistance with meals. Any family that has a child with special needs can request travel assistance to get to out-of-town appointments, prescription medication, special equipment and other expenses not fully covered by insurance or Medicaid. A family can apply for assistance with hospital bills and physical, occupational and therapy bills. The Children’s Miracle Network has received a Community Cares grant to directly benefit children of Laclede County with special medical needs.
Conway Parents as Teachers Parents as teachers is a program designed to offer developmental information and support to all parents of infants and young children from birth to age five. The goal of the program is to help parents give their child the best possible start in life. The Conway PAT presently has 129 families enrolled. Conway Senior Center The Conway Senior Center in Conway is a resource center for Laclede County residents age 60 and over. They provide a meal on site as well as homebound meals. They also provide daily activities and educational programs at the Center. Crosslines Crosslines provides new and used clothing and food to low income and elderly households in Laclede County. They also provide assistance to victims of burnout, provide layettes to new mothers, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene kits, household appliances, furniture, dishes, towels, bedding, diapers, school supplies, financial assistance for rent utilities, prescription medicine, gasoline for travel to work and medical appointments, small home and car repairs and generally anything that will allow a family to stay employed and/or help alleviate an immediate stress. Good Samaritan Travelers Aid The Good Samaritan Travelers’ Aid organization was created by a group of concerned citizens as a response to a need in our community. Countless travelers come through Laclede County. Citizens in Lebanon recognized that while traveling, in some instances, individuals and families find themselves without the necessary resources to provide shelter, food or traveling funds. These citizens recognized that there was not an organization established in Lebanon to address these needs. As a result, the Good Samaritan Travelers’ Aid was created to meet these needs. HRDC The Human Resource Development Center is an alternative approach to education with the goal of reducing the dropout rate in the Lebanon School System. The HRDC allows students to work a half school day without leaving school property, receive cooperative credit and be paid for the work under these controlled circumstances. This provides the student the opportunity to earn money during the school day, thus reducing the potential to drop out to work. The controlled circumstances allow the HRDC to coordinate with cooperative educational opportunities to develop proper work ethics.
Hughes Senior Center The Hughes Senior Center in Lebanon is a resource center for Laclede County residents age 60 and over. They provide a meal on site as well as homebound meals. They also provide daily activities and educational programs at the Center. Laclede Industries Laclede Industries is a sheltered workshop dedicated to providing dignified employment to individuals with disabilities in Laclede County. Laclede Literacy Council The Laclede Literacy Council is a volunteer organization which provides free tutoring services for people in Laclede County who desire to improve their reading and writing skills. LDTC The Laclede County Developmental Training Center (LDTC) provides habilitation (training and instruction) services to handicapped individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. Their programs emphasize a safe and stimulating environment that is designed to assist individuals to retain, increase and develop current skills and interest. Without these services, many clients would live in their homes where elderly parents or siblings would be forced to either attend to their needs 24-hours a day or place them in an institutional environment.  Lebanon Arts Council The purposes of the Lebanon Arts Council are to identify and assist the various cultural art groups and individuals in the Lebanon area, facilitate public presentations of the cultural arts groups and organizations in the Lebanon area, hold one or more festivals and special events each year for the benefit of the Lebanon area residents, conduct an extensive fundraising campaign to secure moneys for the purpose of establishing a permanent endowment fund for the cultural arts. Lebanon R-3 Social Services The Health Services Program of the Lebanon R-3 School District provides direct health care and support services to all students enrolled in grades Pre-K to 12. The program includes school-based social workers. The social workers work specifically with students who are at high risk for school failure. Community Cares funding is used to provide supplies/services to students to support their school success. Examples of needs include personal hygiene products, repairs of glasses, psychological examinations by licenses professional counselors, school supplies, graduation supplies, etc.
LINK Linking Interest with Needed Kare (LINK) is an adult daycare that serves as an alternative to nursing homes or other institutional environments. Through their services, the clients’ families can continue to work and live their lives, while at the same time, keep their loved one at home. New Life Project After being involved in various teaching classes at the Laclede County Jail, it became apparent there was a need for extended assistance. Inmates, upon being released from the correctional facility, found they had no where to go except back into the same home and environment that contributed to their incarceration. The New Life Project was born with the goal of establishing a transitional home by providing a safe environment where newly released female inmates would receive the support they needed. The following programs are available: job application guidance classes, financial management, parenting skills and continuation of their AA programs. Older Adults Transportation Service (OATS) OATS received a grant to provide transportation services to elderly and low-income individuals and families in the Lebanon area. PathwaysPathways provides a continuum of outpatient mental health services. It is their vision to help everyone in Laclede County travel the paths leading to improved health, contentment and achievement. Their mission states that they will provide high-quality, accessible and affordable behavioral healthcare to Missourians while encouraging personal and professional growth of their staff. 
Project Graduation Project Graduation is a party held for high school seniors immediately following Lebanon High School graduation ceremonies. The annual event is a community effort to avoid drunk driving accidents on graduation night. Project Graduation promotes fun while keeping students in a controlled environment. The students are required to arrive by a specific time and are checked in at the door. The new graduates are “locked in” all night and kept busy with games, entertainment, music, good food and prizes. Red Cross The American Red Cross provides relief to victims of disaster, blood to hospital patients, health and safety training to the public and emergency social services to US military families. Community Cares funding is used to directly benefit Laclede County residents. Special Olympics Through sports and competition, the Special Olympics has been able to create a positive atmosphere and teaches decision-making skills, team skills, appropriate behaviors and the feeling of success for developmentally disabled athletes in Laclede County. Special Olympics has excelled in the assistance of building self-esteem, self-confidence and social skills. All of these skills are necessary to be successful in work and school and to be a more productive citizen in our community. Each of these skills enables the athletes to progress towards normal living. Stoutland Senior Center The Stoutland Senior Center in Stoutland is a resource center for Laclede County residents age 60 and over. They provide a meal on site as well as homebound meals. They also provide daily activities and educational programs at the Center. The Free Store The Free Store is open to all residents of Laclede County. They accept all referrals, hoping to include those that might “fall through the cracks.” Their assistance is flexible so that they are able to attempt to help with any need. They provide used clothing and household goods. They provide Thanksgiving food baskets and Christmas toy shopping programs. The Free Store works with several area agencies to fill in the gaps that other agencies are not able to provide.

Wonderland Camp Wonderland Camp is a camp that serves the mentally and physically impaired. It provides a fun, educational camp experience for children, teenagers and adults who are mentally and physically challenged, to offer a respite from daily care giving for the family members and healthcare workers and to provide and nurture and personal development experiences for volunteers and staff. Community Cares funding covers the one-week camp fee for individuals from Laclede County. |
